The Advanced Open Water course is
a great way to continue your training and refine your diving
skills. This program picks up where the Adventure
Diver program leaves off. In Adventure Diver you completed 3 "Adventure" dives.
To earn your advanced rating you will need to complete a total of
five adventure dives. Two of these five dives must be the "Deep" and "Navigation" adventure
dives.
If you completed Adventure Diver at School of Fish Swim and Scuba then
you will need to take the Deep adventure dive and one other
adventure dive from the following list:
• AWARE - Fish
ID
• Boat Diver
• DPV Diver
• Dry Suit Diver
• Multilevel - Computer Diver
• Peak Performance Buoyancy
• Search and Recovery
• Underwater Naturalist
• Underwater Navigation
• Underwater Photography
• Underwater Videography
The deep adventure dive is usually conducted from a dive boat on the
South shore of Long Island, or out of Montauk. One deep dive is required
but you will have the opportunty to do two dives on the day of the deep
dive. These dives are usually conducted at a depth of 60 to 70 feet on
a shipwreck or artificial reef. You will need all of the same equipment
you used in the adventure diver program plus a redundant air supply.
Once you've completed the Advanced Open Water certification you will
be eligable to go to the next level of training which is Rescue Diver.
