Learn to Scuba Dive on Long Island
At School of Fish Swim and Scuba we use the PADI educational system.
PADI is the worlds largest certifying agency, issue more certifications
and have more facilities world-wide than any other dive certification
agency. Their state of the art educational materials are the finest
the SCUBA industry has to offer and we feel students who study properly
will be well prepared and ready for whatever challenges they may meet
while diving.
Our certification programs are designed to get you started
right away because you can do a good portion of the learning
on your own through home-study or E-Learning.
In general, most of the certifications
we offer will involve some home study on behalf of the
student, one or several
review sessions with one of our instructors, a "skills
session" in the swimming pool, and as many as four dives
in the open water depending on the class being taken.
Each class will have different equipment requirements. Diving
(like any other equipment intensive sport) will be much more
enjoyable, and safer if you own your own diving equipment.
Most of the items you will need can be rented but we highly
recommend that all divers own at least the basic equipment
you need to go diving.
We realize that in today's world "free" time
is almost nonexistent so many of our classes can be taken
privately
and tailored to your schedule.
We at School of Fish we have been teaching Long Islanders to dive
continuosly since 1972. Our two instructors have a combined
65 years of experience diving, and over 54 years teachng people
how to dive. Don't wait another second. If diving is something
you've always wanted to do get started now by enrolling in
the Open Water Diver program.
We hope you choose School of Fish as your local diving facility
so we can provide for ALL of your diving needs.
